Copper tile has that ageless appeal that reaches as far back as 6000 B.C. to ancient Egypt, then copper started out as jewelry fit for only the Pharaohs to wear since it was considered to be such a precious metal. Among other reasons they used copper for tiling is that copper is resistant to deep corrosion, meaning that it does not rust. That made it ideal for tiling the buildings. When it is exposed to dampness, all that copper will do is go from a reddish-orange to reddish-brown. That just added to the beauty of the metal with a 'distressed' look.
